gone are the days of a simple get together of friends and family enjoying a tiny birthday cake. kids in Manila today get a dream birthday party complete with hanging balloons and circus shows on their first birthday!
Which I find totally silly because the kid can't even appreciate it. But then, it's not really for the kid even if it is about him/her. :)
