McD's is a worldwide phenomenon. i don't think i have been to a city outside of manila that does not have mcdonald's. sad or not, i'll let you be the judge.
in Manila, McD's is a favorite place for birthday parties for kids... until a friend of mine decided to surprise her boyfriend with one. it was fun seeing a roomful of 30-year-old lawyers playing with ronald mcdonald and popping balloons. in our suits.
and what children's party is ever complete without the fried chicken? yes, my friends, McD's in Manila has fried chicken. and we eat it with rice too. enjoy!
Great pictures. Looks like you had fun. I detest Mcdonald's (though I did have a birthday there as a child!). We have multiple stores in every city. They have to be doing something right if they're so successful, but it makes me sad to see those golden arches in such beautiful places when I travel. Sign of the times, I guess.
ReplyDeleteDid you change the title banner? I really like it.
jon: definteily sign of the times! i am ambivalent about McD's. they're there. i love their fries (when they get soggy enough) and will remain to be one of my best after ____ food! i just need to deal with the grease guilt afterwards! haha.
ReplyDeleteand thank you, yes, i did change the banner. that is a view of the manila skyline from manila bay enroute to Corregidor. at very early in the morning. it was awesome seeing the sun come up behind the buildings!
Chicken with rice? You wont get this here! Sounds somewhat healthier.
ReplyDeletehahaha.
ReplyDeletemy husband's coworker celebrated her 20 something b/day at chuckie cheese (kiddie pizza place with games) and no kids on the guest list.
